19th April 1920.

Our clients, the Indo-China Steam Navigation Company have

asked us to act on behalf of one of their employees, Mr. Charles

William Falk, who is desirous of obtaining naturalisation as A

British subject.

follows :-

The circumstances of the case are as

Mr. Falk was born of Swedish parents in Sweden in the year

1874 and when 16 years old left Sweden and went to sea. He has

been serving in British ships ever since he left Sweden in 1890

except for a period of four years when he was in South Africa and

where he fought for Great Britain in the Boer War from June 1901

to February 1902 when his Corps was disbanded.

He has been in the employment of our clients since the

15th December 1909 during which period he has risen from being

Third Officer to Chief Officer. He holds a Master's Certificate

and would have obtained command of one of the Company's ships if

he could have obtained naturalisation.

Our clients are a British Company Incorporated in this

country and their ships all trade in the East, principally

between Hong Kong and Chinese and Indian ports.
